Hi guys!
It's been awhile.. I hope everyone is still hyped about this whole handlebar-chewing life.. Cause im just getting started!
Recently, Francis bought a Polar HRM at an expo for cheap. Having already owned 2 HRMs, he decided to pass one to me to test it out. I've never worked with any data in my training before that, everything is based on perceived effort, so this is something new and interesting, well, at least for me. It's a basic model (Polar S725X) which includes altitude, temperature, HRM, and the usual functions you find in any cyclocomputers. It also includes 2 tests, one which is the VO2 max and the other is the optimizer test (to test your current condition, whether you have overtrained or fully recovered). The HRM also comes with a proTrainer CD with includes calendar where you can plan your training or upload your day's training data. Before using it there are a few settings to be set, like user profile,
max HR, monitor preference etc.. After that it's good to go.
Below is my training data for this morning's ride. I rode for 100km on my resistant rollers in slightly more than 3hrs. I included a 10mins and a 5mins effort towards the end of the ride. The small drops in speed is when i "off saddle" to relieve my butt ache! :)
Alright, that's all for my "once in a blue moon" post! Until next time!
